Construction and Commissioning

Under Grand Admiral Cipriano Tulesco, the navy underwent a robust period of modernization. He learned a brutal lesson in the Wenseclim War where the Otorim Navy proved to be no match against the Eleuniars. The Nala class frigates became the prime example of these changes, and all eight ships went on to have impressive careers.

Early Years

By the time Siridanta was launched, Otorveia had been at peace for several years. She was only partially outfitted and assigned light patrol duties. Her first captain was Soares Linhara, a distinguished, but unpopular captain who made her fortune during the Wenseclim War. She retired in 476 IA following a nearly fatal incident where the ship ran aground on a sand bar. Her second captain was Levai Amaral, a well connected young officer. He was tasked with patrolling the colonies and deterring pirates.

Battle of Rasena Island

Siridanta and Per Ssoniko took up the rear of the line... At midday, they opened fired on Pradina. She was joined by Istemna and Zoevdnavo who engaged Siridanta on both sides. She sustained heavy damage including several shots below the waterline and losing her mizzenmast... She was the only frigate to escape the battle and return to Port Lanaira in Nazara. There, she spent the rest of the year undergoing repairs. During this time, she was reoutfitted with additional guns and one of the first ships to receive copper plating on her hull. Captain Amaral continued as her captain until his death in 484 IA.

Trapigo Bay

On 2 Laresse 486, Siridanta joined Galison and Moriah to intercept a small Waisal merchant convoy sailing past Trapigo Bay. The convoy consisted of Greve Talimos, Kavinia, Reda-Volo, Ukthania, and Podomo. They were protected by the 24-gun frigate Onomarsi. Despite having the weather gage, Siridanta came up smartly on the rear of the convoy and fired a warning shot at Podomo who was to starboard. Galison engaged Onomarsi, and Siridanta and Moriah fired a few shots at the merchant ships before they surrendered. Siridanta suffered only four casualties, Moriah two, and Galison fifteen. The three ships escorted their prizes back to New Gandonai. Lieutenant Elio Gabonhe of Siridanta led the boarding party onto Ukthania while injured and showed great courage defending his crew from the Waisal guard.

Brei-Vulmrigo

We sighted Brei-Vulmrigo at three bells on 18 Menasse 490 IA. She had our sloop Noreinya under escort. Brei-Vulmrigo fired once upon us in warning. I gave the order to luff the sails and fly Eleuniar colors, and we allowed her to come in closer. Once she was within range, we raised our real colors and opened fire. Brei-Vulmrigo took several shots to the waterline, and the quarterdeck division struck down her foremast. Lieutenant Mirela Denisaira led the boarding party and accepted Captain Ricci Pauda's sword. She took command of the prize crew and sailed Brei-Vulmrigo back to Harnabi.

Bornigals Point

At 6-bells morning watch, we sailed south past Bornigals Point. Topman Kyros Roches spotted a Waisal ship off the starboard beam. We fired a warning shot with our bow guns, and she tacked to flee. We possessed the weather gage and chased her until 3- bells forenoon watch when she was close enough to open fire twice with our port battery. She continued to flee and did not return fire.
