The Spire of Yore
"And then of course, their is the great spire, for which the city is named. The Spire of Yore's creation is contested. According to the records of the Dragons, the spire was of their own creation, and one of the first marvels that they had constructed, though by Silvarran lore, the spire was built by a progenitor race eons before Valur known to the dragons. Regardless, the spire is truly a magnificent structure.
Its brick almost pearl like in appearance. In the light of the day, the spire can be recognized from a great many miles away because of the gleam that it has. Even in person, it is hard to fathom it's height, stretching up to the heavens. But its outward appearance does not compare to it's interior, full of wonder and mystery.
The hall beyond the Great Entry is decidedly grander than even the High Councilor 's mansion, marbled floors that shift in strange fashions, mimicking the passage of the celestial bodies of the gods throughout the heavens, pearlescent arrays of color swirling in the background. The walls themselves are made of a material not yet identified, the source of its location completely unknown. To look upon them, one might believe them to be carved from amber, but marking them by appearance alone would ignore many of the materials properties. When standing next to them, a faint hum can constantly be heard and the effect that the material has on the person is enhanced in such close proximity, it is almost pure bliss. This accounts for the barrier that has been placed around the room, to prevent any persons from approaching to close. Of course, as mentioned, this feeling can be felt even outside the audible range of the hum, leaving any standing in the room in a pleasant mood, even the most dour of persons are unable to resist this change in mood."

Purpose / Function
The original purpose and creation of the spire is contested. According to the records of the Dragons, they credit themselves with its construction, primarily as a prison. Silvarran folk tales speak of a race that existed eons ago who build the spire, which they used as a method of transportation and a place of learning and research.
Since its capture by the Awenmont Empire , it has been repurposed and is now primarily used as a bank, with several of its levels being rededicated to the study of magic and the universe.
Alterations
For the most part, little has been changed about the spire. The only significant addition has been a hall constructed around the Great Entry and the 4 flanking doors. This hall is as much of the spire as most people have seen, the rest of the hall being difficult to navigate except for those that understand its secrets.
Tourism
People from all over the Awenmont Empire come to marvel at the accessible parts of the structure. Within the city of Yorespire itself, it is a major attraction for people of all walks of life. The wealthiest of families are occasionally allowed to tour the upper sanctum on the days that it is accessible.
