Bigby Fork and her surroundings

Originally just a little rural community in northeast Mississippi, Bigby Fork managed to grow and survive to become one of the larger cities in the area.
This local city came into official existence in 1821 and is perhaps most known in the area for it's college, officially known as Whitmoor University after it's founder but colloquially as The Slough.
Tracing it's "official" creation back to 1801, it existed previously as a base of expeditions for those exploring the area.
Founded in 1830, this town began as a farming community and continues to be surrounded by them to this day.
When this little town was first established in 1841, it was thanks to plantation owner Edward Gray renting out sections of his land to the newly arrived Bryan family as well as suffering relatives of his wife, Amelia Harris..
Starting as a series of farms, it eventually grew with the building of a bridge across the Tombigbee River as well as a girl's boarding school.
