Chief Arbiter

The Chief Arbiter is the head of state for the United Systems of the Galaxy. Also refered to as the Arbitrator, or sometimes the Commander-in-Chief, held the highest position in the Executive Branch of the Government. The Chief arbiter's powers include presiding over the senate, issuing executive commands to people in the government and in times of war, be the Commander-in-chief. Job duties include being the figure head for the whole United Systems government, chair the galactic senate and sign in laws that are presented to their office, to name a few. The term length for a Arbiter in office is 6 years, and they can run twice in total. A max term length if both elections fall in their favor is 12 years. The title can go to any member species of the United Systems. The position is voted on by the senate that is themselves elected by their constituents.

History

The title was first used after the Sulrosian and Kvatrian governments signed the United Systems Consitution, creating the United Systems of the Galaxy. Here the first title of Chief Arbiter was bestowed upon a Sulrosian, Vtimva Eptalid. The title has remained in effect since this signing date and many an Arbiter has come and gone.
