The standard issue weapon for many army's heavy ranged infantry.

Access & Availability

After word had travelled across the world, many governments worked the weapon into their armies, after many adjustments and tweaks to make it more reliable and durable. After the power struggle over the strength of their armies, the crossbow became more publicly accessible, but was taxed very heavily and expensive to buy and maintain.

Discovery

In the 1473 AC, explorers from the The Knowledge Guild came across a very early crude prototype bow that was intended to be more powerful and accurate than the normal bow many other tribes, armies and individuals used for various different tasks. The downside was that it had to be loaded 1 bolt at a time which was slower than it's counterpart but made up for the flaw with superior accuracy, power and range.
