The Sea Spirit
The sea spirit is the embodiment of the sea, the guardian of the world's waters and all magic related to various formswater, the creator of the first sirens, and the deity of connection, vows, and vengeance. The sea spirit is the most powerful of the elemental spirits, and is the equal and opposite force of Angor, the primordial demon of wrath and pain. The only being in this world that can challenge the sea spirit's power is Angor, itself—and the only being in this world that rivals Angor's might is the sea spirit, herself. Neither deity can live without the other.
The sea spirit was born of wild aquatic magic, and now defends that magic with its life, acting as a force of ORDER within Vaeringr—defending mortals from the utter FORCE of wild magic—and using that magic to enact its wishes and influence the world as it desires to.
The sea spirit is the mother of sirens. Due to its deep-seated desire for connection and familial relations, this spirit reached deep into the recesses of the world's wild water magic, and formed four Niraj (Destined) from the very magical fabric (or, rather, ousia) that the spirit was made from. The Niraj are spirits by nature, with forms that resemble mortals. The Niraj are not mortal; they are fully divine in body and mind—but they were made for the mortal WORLD, and, as a result, they live and die like mortals do.
Following the siren genocide in 7886—and the death of one of the Niraj—the sea spirit swore a fatal vow. Were Angor to murder another one of her Niraj, she would kill him, and willingly die with him. Angor mocked her. The spirit, flooded with vengeance, decided to personally ensure that he would fulfil her vow, and created the fourth Niraj—Eros Acheron Oleander. When Angor killed Eros in 8286, the spirit weaponized Eros's final moment (in which he'd used his voice to try and kill Angor) and flooded him with her own magic for just a moment, giving him ability to kill Angor outright. The spirit used her own child to end the life of her worst enemy—and to end her own life, in return.
