While out sketching by the ocean Arte encounters Caer -Trenzar-. Impressed by its skills Arte offers it a deal to make some extra income. Writing up a contract for Tavian to review.
Makes sure it stays north of the Veldt x Frontier conflict.
Arte is overjoyed at the return of Caer to it's agreed working arrangement. It readily agrees to go with it back to Noord only to find its short coat isn't suited for the winter weather there. Receiving a cloak Arte meets Null at the market. It agrees to only tell Caer about lighter jobs to help address Null's concerns.
Finding some lovely accurate maps of Noord in the cabin, Arte trades one to Chill for a Keyed Fiddle.
Concerned about Caer's sudden change in demeanor, Arte attempts to follow only to be attacked. When it receives treatment it's alarmed to find Tavian has been harmed as well.
While tracking Caer it is attacked by Bronze -Trenzar- at the edge of its territory, losing its body in the process. Its spirit is imprisoned in a lantern and is only able to ring the attached bell. After being handed off to Caer it quickly learns that it is unable to perceive it, only adding to Arte's frustration.
Spying an incomplete Seven-seven -Trenzar- Art is overjoyed at the opportunity to create, taking advantage of Caer's preoccupation to design and influence it.
Expresses its excitement when it gets moved into the new structure out in the ruins.
Noticing Seven-seven's habit of whistling, Arte tells it that it has a surprise waiting in the caverns.
Over the years it gives advise and listens to Seven-seven practice its skills on the fiddle.
After witnessing Caer display symptoms it hasn't shown in years Art decides to tell Seven-seven about its illness. Arte goes on to suggest that they should start thinking of where they might want to live.
It's surprised when Caer suddenly starts speaking to it. Unfortunately despite its attempts at communication it realizes Caer is just filling the silence and is just imitating what it thinks Seven-seven did.
To its delight Seven-seven returns to Ingredi. Things turn sour when Caer immediately attacks it, Arte's protests going unnoticed. The fight ends when the lantern is broken with a blinding flash. Finally free from its prison Arte sends Seven-seven on its way and turns to confront Caer. The ensuing fight ends with Arte managing to get ahold of Caer and stripping it from its body, then using the lights sent for them by Seven-seven as a guide.
