Kingdom of Mystika

Mystika is a kingdom located in a mountainous region called the Spine of Varladen. The area was formally populated by the Hanathar High Elves, until the Plague of Stone killed most of the elves. Although it was thought to be a disease, the plague was actually the result of a group of Medusas that moved to the region. A group of humans migrating from the Northlands to get away from the fire drakes found the area deserted. The humans killed the Medusas and built their new homes on top of the elven ruins. During their prosperous times, the elves built the Golden Brick Road using magic and a special yellow stone that emits magical bright light to guide travelers at night. Today this road is used as the main trade gateway, and it was instrumental in the growth and development of the human kingdom. A traveler will found the black houses and temples a bit grim, but they are actually constructed using local black stone and wood from the dark pines of the area.
