11 - King Quipper Flipper

General Summary

Cyrus has tasked the cartographers with collecting different meats and foods in preparation for a celebratory feast being thrown in the honor the the guild heads Orobash & Amyra's return from their year long expedition. He has asked for this food items to be collected:

King Quipper steaks

Great Pidgeon Eggs

Dire Rabbit Haunches

Giant Ladybug Meat

Boison Berries

The cartographers decided to take some nets, the Potions of Waterbreathing, and borrow a row boat from Ostenward and spend the day fishing for Quipper. So they pack up their boat and take it down the Mighty Channel until it merged with the Gleaming River and take that to The Bay of Stonehelm to do their fishing.

They took the boat out into the middle of the lake until they think they see signs of a large school of quipper and keep their eyes open for the real prize, a King Quipper.

King Quipper

They spot one down in the murky water and took some shots at it but the water made the shots difficult and ended up angering the large fish. It started to quickly swim up and ram the boat, flipping it over on the second attempt and dumping the occupants, Gnaa, Scaley, and Shelly into the water and into the reach of the quippers. Two swarms of quipper began to pick the party apart while the King Quipper tried to drag the party members deeper into the water. It was looking rough with the cartographers blood in the water, but with quick thinking in incredible agility by Gnaa, he flipped the boat while throwing the King Quipper into to now right-side-up boat. After that it was no problem for the cartographers to pick apart the two schools of smaller quipper. With the quipper no longer trying to feed on the cartographers limbs, they took a few minutes to explore the shipwreck the quipper had been using to hide amongst. Shelly noticed one of the skeletons appeared trapped under the mast of the wreck had a ring on its boney finger. Shelly plucked it off the corpse and showed it to Scaley who identified it as Ring of Anchoring.

Once attuned, this hammered lead ring grants the wearer the ability to breath underwater, and if something moves the wearer against their will the wearer may reduce the movement by 10ft.

So with that the party resurfaced, hopped back into the boat, and made their way back to the guild.
