Sunsteel blades appear to be a normal long sword until a command word is given and the blade turns into pure fire. In this form, the blade neither radiates heat nor energy, other than that emitted as visible light, until it comes into contact with something solid. The power of the blade is so great that it could cut through almost anything, although the speed through which it cuts depends on the density of the subject. One important note about Sunsteel wounds is that they rarely bleed profusely, even when a limb had been severed. This is because the heat of the blade cauterizes the wound as it passes, and thus even a severe wound does not tend to bleed heavily.
