Cthonia

Where Zagrean stands now, once stood the city of Cthonia. The Cthonic people are much a mystery, having faded out in time as the city built into Zagrean. Regardless of who they were, the greatest mark of thier civilization is the Cyrpts, over two hundred miles of twisting, bone lined catacombs making up a twisting maze beneath the streets of Zagrean. These catacombs, would be of litte concern, if the dead within didn't make a habit of rising. Skeletons flooding up from the sewers through a broken wall, Wailing banshees heard in the night, ancient liches making a lair of forgotten tombs, make the crypts one of the most dangerous places in Zagrean. The undead denizens of this place are called Cthonians.
