Triumvirate

The Triumvirate is the ruling body of Rakora. Made up of the Maiden, Mother, and Matron, they are a matriarchal group, that acts not only as head of state, but as the head of the state curch, who worships the Meridian, but in particular Hadrite.
Every year, at the Springday Festival, young women are selected to join the priestesses of Hadrite, called the Vestals. When the Matron retires from the council, joining the Coven of Crones, the Mother becomes the new Matron, and the Maiden becomes a new Mother. Then, from among the Vestals, a new Maiden is chosen. Those three rule the nation together, supposedly bringing creativity, balance, and wisdom respectively.
Some claim the Coven is the true ruler of Rakora, and that the Triumvirate is just a puppet. The Triumvirate rules from the Jade Garden, in Odaran.
The current Maiden is Shae Moonscar, a halfling.
The current Mother is Aelona Resvira, an elf. A rarity on the council, she will still be expected to vacat the position of Matron in a timely manor.
The current Matron is Ryxa Trill, a goblin.
