Caroleus Rose was the heir to his father Ludovicus. Unbeknownst to the young boy, his father was a major leader of a shadow organisation called
The Lunar Pact, intent on keeping the secrets of Tulpathy away from the public to retain their monopoly.
But Caroleus had lived his life on the streets. He had used his Tulpathic powers as he saw fit and had amassed a following of thugs and beggars. He refused to take up his father's role and fled from the custody of the council. Caroleus despised his father for being absent and negligent throughout his childhood. Furthermore he disagreed with the council's doctrines of secrecy. His choice was made. Caroleus founded the Thorn Syndicates, a crime family determined to sell Tulpathic services to the common man, gaining their trust and respect along the way.
To this end, they dress extravagantly in all the wrong ways, sticking to the stereotypical idea of a "wizard" to garner an unmistakable identity among the public.
As one can guess, they are in constant conflict with the Lunar Pact. For every secret revealed, another is concealed. They aid the enemies of the Lunar Pact whenever they can. They sell mercenaries, hitmen, and most importantly, information. Money is meaningless to them. Their only currency is loyalty and truth.
Their teleportation abilities are honed to perfection, leaving their enemies disoriented and outmatched at every turn. They strike out of nowhere and vanish before backup can arrive.
They remain a constant stain on the Lunar Pact's record.
A ticking time bomb unable to be defused.
Forever a Thorn in their side.
