Bujek and the Church of Ilimah
General Summary
Tired, exhausted, dirty with dust and blood the group arrived in the town Bujek. With them they carried some artifacts but unfortunately some dead bodies, too.
Their first way led them to the town's guard and their leader Ahren. After a while they learned that a girl and her two brothers are missing. And at their carriage they brought the dead bodies of a girls and two boys. During their talk with the guard's lead they came to discuss the topic of the silver necklace which seems to beloong to the girl. Ahren asked them to hand over the necklace but Kruusk convinced him to leave it with them, temporarily. Because they want to find the out whom it might belong and some more about the necklace's background.
As a strict and lawful guard's officer he let the group sign a document that the necklace rightfully belongs to the town's people and it will be handed over after the group has finished their investigation. So everything would have it's order, except that Kruusk used a wrong name at signing the document. And because of some more questions coming from the group, especially from Szeua, Ahren promised that he will help them to meet Lord Dragan Larik.
After finishing this sad business the group went to the church of Ilimah to trade in those artefacts. After knocking a the church's door they were greeted by Eva Doned. A human woman who seems to serve in the name of the church. She asked them to bring the artefacts to the backdoor, because the priests and alcolytes are currently busy with their routines. When they went through the artefacst for making a deal the group also asked about some information concerning the necklace. But neither Eva nor the priests know anyhting about it. But Eva asked one of the alcolytes to look for the High Priest Mikal. He is old and knows many things.
After a while the High Priest showed up and after a brief look at the necklace he seemed to recognize it. He guessed that it belongs to family Thisteldove and that the dead bodies of the young people could be the three missing children. So he sent for Ana Thisteldove, the mother of the missing boys and girl. During the time they were waiting for the arrival of Ana the High Priest and the adventurers were talking about the possibility of reviving somebody who is dead. But not in the foul and insane way a necromant will do, brining back living dead. And Mikal explained them that it is possible but it would require a very valuable item or even better a gem to focus pure energy so that somebody already dead can get back to life in a sane way. In his pure and naive way, Szeua was asking if it is possible that the Priest could bring back to live the one he is searching for. The Cat Lord. And as funny as this might sound, the answer of the High Priest struck a lot of hope into the Tabaxi's heart. He "just" need the crimson ruby from the king's crown. This news would have troubled nearly everyone ... but not the brave and devoted Szeua.
They finished their talk about bringing back dead people, when Ana arrived. Kruusk hesitantly showed her the necklace and the good mother burst into tears, her whole body shaking and shivering. She recognized the necklace and realized that it were her children the group brought back from their last encounter. Comforting the woman, Mikal guided her to the guard's office where the corpses remained, so that the mother could bid farewell to her children. After that they returned to the church in company of the guard and their officer in charge, Ahren.
Now, that the belonging of the necklace is calrified and as agreed, at least from the officer's point of view, he asked the group to return the necklace to Ana. But Kruusk was still hesitant. He tried to convince the guard's lead that they would still need it to get even more information. To find out more about their encounter. Still Ahren insisted that the necklace has to be returned and that he is in possession of a signed document which says so. After that Kruusk tried to talk himself out of the deal, by stating that the name on the document is not his. Which resulted in a angry growing Eva and a dead serious Ahren. Finally Kruusk handed the necklace over by throwing it on the floor. Calm and resembled, Ahren picked it up and returned the retrieval paper to Kruusk ... by throwing it on the floor. He probably thought that this is proper way of Ork's making their business.
The group an Mikal came back to the topic of bring back somebody who is already dead and the group agreed to get a valuable item to revive at least the dead girl. And at that point, because she knows how a mother who has lost her children must feel, Eva decided to join the group. But there was another topic to discuss. How should the adventurers be paid for the artefacts? The church is not a rich one and lacks of a lot of money, so they agreed on receiving a healing potion for each group member as their payment.
After all that business was settled and hearing and feeling everyone's starving belly grumbling the group, with their new member, headed to next best, means cheapest, tavern. The most infamous Lame Prince. After getting a cozy table most of them ordered some steak. Bloody ... or even bloody bloody. During the evening they got to talk to the bard, because Szeua thought that him being the oldest person in the room would know the most about where to go next. And he was not that wrong because the bard told them the story about Jenny Greenteeth. An old lady that helps everyone who is asking her. But as much she willingly help, as strange things she asks in return.
And either it was the story about Jenny or it was the bloody steak ... Hugur started do not feel that great and a little bit exhausted. Maybe he really has a weak stomach.
After they filled their bellies and brains they felt ready for some bed action. No, not that active one but the passive one. So they decided to rent a room, except for Eva who chose to stay at the church. Did she feel uncomfortable with the group? Or is she just a cheap one?
