Aurelio Carano
General Aurelio Carano (a.k.a. Man of the People)
Aurelio Carano is a retired general of the Tarran League Army and the current Minister of Interior Affairs of the country. He is one of the few members of government who really understand the problems of the worker class and does what he can to help them. Those actions earned him a nickname "Man of the People".
Military Service
Before the civil war, Aurelio served in the royal army and had a rank of major. He served in the Municipal Guard of Tarrpolis, a unit dedicated to the defence of the city. After the Proclamation, he was one of many soldiers and officers who joined the League in the early days of the civil war. It is estimated that about 97% of the Municipal Guard joined the League at the beginning of the civil war. Aurelio's leadership skills quickly earned him the rank of general.
Aurelio was loved by his troops. The main reason for it was that he always looked for way which would secure a victory with minimal casualties. He was also often among his soldiers. It is said that he often ate the same what his soldiers ate and slept in the same conditions as them.
As a general, Aurelio is best remembered for leading a force which freed a League's divison from envelopment. General Carano lead a cavalry charge himself during that battle.
Government
In 1865 AF Aurelio decided that it was time to retire from the military. However, he didn't want to stop serving his country and got involved in politics. He promoted laws focuses in improving the lives of the worker class. After a few years he became the Minister of Interior Affairs.
General Carano is the only member of government who cares about us! Only he speaks for the people!
Dark Secret
About five years before the Proclamation of the Tarran League, Aurelio discovered that he had magical abilities. What's more, he could see the Threads of Magic. He was a Weaver. Aurelio needed a teacher, but the rarity of Weaver made it difficult. He had to go into the criminal underworld to find one. As the result, he joined a brotherhood of assassins, who used the Threads to kill. They trained Aurelio and gave him a living. However, after his first kill Aurelio felt bad and left the brotherhood. He cut all ties and moved to Tarrpolis. There, he joined the army. He never told that to anyone. He knows that if anybody finds out his career is finished.

Retirement benefits
According to tradition, veterans are allowed to wear uniforms for special occasions. However, Aurelio received additional permission to wear uniform whenever he likes. It is an element of the way the League honours its heroes. Additionally, Aurelio is still addressed as general, what is standard in every country. He also receives a hefty sum of money every month.
Nice character :D Would the assassins have way to prove that Aurelio worked for them and was involved in the assassination or could he just say that it's all lies to try to discredit him?
