The Bay of Blood
The Bay of Blood named for the history that occurred here during the Age of Desolation, but now incorrectly assumed by most to be named for a different reason.
During the Age of Desolation when the world battles the hordes of horrors, a great city stood where the Bay of Blood does now. During the initial rush of creatures from the great portal into others they arrived within this city, once called Talindal. The battle was monstrous and the magics and powers unleashed over months of fighting eventually eroded the city and bedrock until there was nothing left to fight over but ruins and death, yet it continued as the Forces of Light attempted to close the portal.
Success came eventually and by the time it had, all that remained of the city and its denizens was a gigantic crater. One of the first in the long war ahead.
When the cataclysm happened and the world shattered, lands fell into the seas and the crater wall collapsed, letting the sea swallow this monument to slaughter. Even till this day fisherman that delve too deep find remnants of what once was, though they should not delve too deep.
Most that live today no not of what happened here, and think the name comes from the orbit of the red moon, and how once a month, on clear nights, it sits upon the horizon and sheds its light upon the water's surface, giving it the appearance of blood.
