The Maiden of Telenheim
The creation of Allsend Landing has drawn speculation from across Lenwir, though amongst scholars the true source of this interest lies with 'The Maiden of Telenheim'. A statue of incredible proportions holding up a chunk of land large enough for a small city amongst the battering miasma of the Maelstrom.
The location is even more puzzling for many, though few scholars of The Ancients, know that Taelon the great city stood here long ago, and assume it must have been constructed using technology and magic well beyond the scope of any now on Venya.
Trench Icesteel has used that interest to his advantage, creating tales and legends of the 'Maiden of Telenheim' as he dubbed it, in memory of the town in Frostrun where he was born. The tales tell of titans fighting, great sculptors crafting something beyond comprehension and the embodiment of femininity crafted by the gods, all in the name of drumming up more tourists and visitors.
Structure
It isn't just the size and scope of this maiden that interests scholars, but the material and location of the statue. Whatever material it's made of has stood for millennia without accumulating so much as a dent or scratch and none have been able to remove even shavings from its structure. Any magic directed at it is absorbed by the material without any reaction and it seems to possess some form of magic-null effects. The location is even more puzzling for many, though few scholars of The Ancients, know that Taelon the great city stood here long ago, and assume it must have been constructed using technology and magic well beyond the scope of any now on Venya.
Fame
Even with the novelty of Allsend Landing and its location above the Maelstrom, it is the mystery of this great statue that has captured the hearts and minds of those across Venya, and now it is all anyone can think of when they discuss the town above the Maelstrom.Trench Icesteel has used that interest to his advantage, creating tales and legends of the 'Maiden of Telenheim' as he dubbed it, in memory of the town in Frostrun where he was born. The Truth
At the moment of destruction, when The Cataclysm shattered the realms of eternity, Targon, the Earth-Mender, one of the Creator Gods appeared below the splitting world of Venya and cast all of her essence into containing the growing Maelstrom that would grow to break reality. Her life force was enough to contain and prevent the complete collapse of reality, though the process left her without life, turning her into the unbreakable statue that now stands overlooking the tear she sought to repair. Forever cursed to be a forgotten goddess.Quest Hook
Deep within the hidden library at Dawn's Red, the secret capital of The Red Ushad, lies a tome yet to be translated that tells of an excursion shortly after The Cataclysm to where Talon had stood and talks of the statue of the Goddess Targon, The Earth Mender standing against the pull of the Maelstrom. Though the writer knows not what she did to come to this fate.Further clues rest in the library and upon Allsend Landing that tell of her actions and possibly how to return this lost creator goddess to life by entering the shattered realms through the Maelstrom and collecting the motes of her essence to revitalise her and return her to grace, though it would likely spell the doom of Allsend Landing, it would restore strength to the powers of Light and benefit all Venya.
