Zylnan Ceda

Despite the heavy fey influences across Lenwir, Zylnan Ceda, born to a human mother and an unknown elven father, always stood out from his human companions. In search of more than his rural home town could offer, he joined a hands for hire business to travel the lands and find a more fitting place for himself.   A simple business contract led him to an excavation site upon the edge of Sabal, in the recently excavated Sunken Ruins (The Crimson Canyons. He was tasked with various jobs around the camp. Though, one late afternoon as the sun settled over the dunes of The Sabal'Har Desert the excavation team discovered the entrance to a subterranean chambers, one not shown upon any plans or maps.   The surge of excitement was overwhelming and the crew cleared the entrance in record time, scouring the faded ancient language from the stone doorway in the process. As the runes were removed the doorway vanished, replaced with a dark entrance of solid black. One that started to grow.   In a blink of an eye, one crew member after another was sucked into the darkness, screaming with terror. Zylnan ran, though the sands betrayed him and his steps became sluggish in the soft sand. Fear began to take hold and he missed a step, falling to the ground and closing his eyes as he waited to be taken.   After a few seconds, he looked back.   The darkness hadn't followed him, but continued to pulse and writhe around the entrance. As he gazed into the darkness, an entity, barely recognisable against the tar-black backdrop, shimmered from the void, taking a form that mimicked humanoid features in an alien way.   "This place was not to be disturbed. But you will learn, in time." The entity drew a sword from the darkness and plunged it into Zylnan's chest.   He awoke with the rising of the sun, huddled in on himself and shivering. The entrance had collapsed and his crew members were nowhere to be found. Zylnan felt the disappearance of all on the site would be pinned on him and fled. Though in truth, the thought of staying near that chamber scared him to his core. So he ran, staggering into The Sabal'Har Desert and away from the ancient ruins.   Days passed in a haze, his waking moments a burning fever dream beneath the blazing sun and his sleep plagued by nightmares of darkened figures. Though chance sometimes is funny, for he stumbled into a rare and noble creature that took him along, his proximity keeping the nightmares at bay, for now.   And with that Zylnan found his way to Sandmyst Point with Tyrvaan. Though scared of the fresh powers he'd gained, and terrified his new companion would discover his past.
