Atvu
Located near the dried remains of a lake, Atvu is a small mining village under the control of Larsu. They are the main providers of salt to the northern lands of Sousa, and any spare salt is carefully smuggled to the coast where it can reap a great profit for the nobles of Larsu from the merchants who can sell it in Norilin or Sesilin.
Demographics
There are 15 teams of 3 miners each, totaling 45. About 40 of the other villagers are their families, though many of the miners are married to each other. There are 2 hunting and scavenging parties in the village, totaling 6 villagers. There are also some elderly villagers, and a few people who run the tavern.
Industry & Trade
Salt mining is the one and only industry in the village. They rely on imported food and beer delivered to the village.
Infrastructure
There is a large grain silo, the daily allotment of grain is magically dispensed to the baker in town. The imyr controls the seal, and can shut it off no matter where they are. One of the buildings is an administrative office which also contains a large hold for all of the salt collected before it is sent off to Tharu. There is a small well in a center courtyard of the administration building. However, the There is a small tavern, barely larger than one of the houses, which contains a drinking room and a small sleeping room for any travelers.
Assets
The town is a valuable commodity to the nobles of Larsu, for the salt mined there is precious. That said, the town itself sees little of the wealth they generate. The largest piece of evidence the town has towards its value is the large grain silo that is installed in it. It is rare for small villages, especially ones that are neither along the Tanin Nahr or a source of metals and gems, to be afforded such privilege.
Guilds and Factions
Salt Miners Association - a loosely organized group that mostly coordinates team and pit assignments. It's headed by Thava, a female, blue dragonborn miner.
Architecture
The buildings of Atvu are made of impure salt slabs from the nearby pits. Most of them are small, square buildings with low ceilings. They do usually have multiple rooms, and a few windows. The cloth normally used as curtains and doors are scarce in Atvu. Instead, animal hides and thin branches tied together serve the same purpose.
Geography
The area surrounding Atvu is full of rocky terrain, a serir. Scattered through the stony landscape are small, scraggly bushes that struggle to survive. They offer no food to humanoids, yet luckily there are rabbits, lizards, and snakes to sustain people. The only empty stretch of land is the dried-up lake bed, now known as The Pits. There are hundreds of square, 15 feet deep holes in the ground. Each with a little over 5 feet of room separating them.
