The Laws of Verdance

Gravity is slightly weaker in Verdance to allow larger megafauna, greater carrying capacity and greater acrobatic capabilities. Spirits are commonplace, A variety of differing magics are available to people and they all have their own sources, methods of casting and social integration. Magic plays a great role in Verdance though in many areas of the world it may not be commonplace. 'Gods' exist in Verdance though not as you may typically expect they are the physical manifestation of a specific type of energy, notion or emotion, they do not often interfere with mortal affairs but when they do it is often cataclysmic.

Principal Geography & Features

While the world formed naturally and there were relatively ordinary continents this is not the case anymore as after the war that caused the creation of Verdance much of the land that was not crushed by the event has been heavily damaged. This can be seen on a geographical scale in the map alongside the new landmasses.

Initial Active Setting

I plan to have the entire world be an active setting. I wouldn't make sections of my world if I didn't plan to use them. Even the oceans play a great role in the story of Verdance. Nothing should be taken as unimportant. That being said anything to do with extraplanetary planes or extra dimensions is something I would consider inactive space as while they may exist in the universe of Verdance I have little plans to make a proper map or write them as a focal point.
