The Diary

The words pour from my pen. Harshly, panicked. Torn. I've lost my right to talk to other fairies, so now this is all I have. You are my confidant. My new best friend. My only way to understand my own feelings when my world is falling apart.

Nessa Jacaranda, 1st January 1995

This is the Diary Nessa Nessa picked up when she was exiled from Floresfada by her mother. Its cover is faded, falling apart in places, and its pages have been yellowed by years of abandon. Who did it belong to before? Why was it among Nessa's things?
Nessa attempted to name her diary once she realise it was going to be her only "friend" for the foreseeable future. However, she didn't like the names "Bob the Book" or "Diana the Diary", so instead of giving an actual name to her travelling companion, she addresses it as "Dear Diary of [something relevant to what she is about to write]".

Mechanics & Inner Workings

You open a blank page, you write the date on top, and then "Dear Diary..."

Significance

This is where Nessa writes all her feelings ever since her banishment. She even considers the diary to be her best friend and confidant, so it's obviously important to her.
