Humans

In the reckonings of most scholars, humans are the youngest of the common races, late to arrive on the world scene and short-lived in comparison to dwarves, elves, and dragons. Perhaps it is because of their shorter lives that they strive to achieve as much as they can in the years they are given. Or maybe they feel they have something to prove to the elder races, and that's why they build their mighty empires on the foundation of conquest and trade. Whatever drives them, humans are the innovators, the achievers, and the pioneers of the worlds.   Some scholars believe that it is the humans youth and willingness to work alongside other races that has allowed them to become so prevelent in comparison to other races. While the dwarves have their mountain holds and the elves their arcannum, humans have seemingly always built their cities with other races in mind. Rarely will you find a "human town" in a city founded by gnomes, however. Some think this is a sign of the human race being exploitative in nature while others point to this as a sign of humans innate desire to work with others. Regardless of the purpose or function historically, it has allowed humans to spread across the realm and prosper in way that none of the other races can even compare to.
