Wild Scars

The Comharth Fiáin is a phenomena that all Elafi develop shortly after meeting with the The Norns during their rite of passage. They are also simply referred to as 'Wild Scars' in common. They appear as glowing, bright markings that manifest during displays of great power, typically only appearing when channeling druidic magic. Elafi Wild Scars are said to be the favor of the Norns themselves; they are markings that have been inscribed by the needles of fate itself.
Only just recently, the Wild Scars have begun to appear on the Elves as well. This is likely due to their people adopting many different traditions of the Elafi people. In truth; anyone willing to undergo the rite of passage of meeting with a Norn can lead towards developing one's own Wild Scars, though Elafi and Elves still remain as the only documented races to have had the privilege of receiving them.

Elven Wild Scars are more easily notable as they appear as actual grid-like markings that are etched into the skin. Literal scars that glow when displaying magical prowess; the Elafi's own aren't as notable.

Causes

Wild Scarring is caused when an Elafi meets the end of their Rite of Passage. Elafi tradition dictates that they leave their homes the moment they see their first The Fae. From there, the Elafi undergoes a near-death experience that grants them vision of their idealized fate, provided to them by the Norns. This scarring is said to be etched into their hide by their needles, and is an inscription of their prophesied fate.
