After discovering that the beast curse could be found within Asenboll, Lachtna and his followers set to the city to purge it of its disease. When they discovered many clinics had taken in those sick with the curse, Lachtna chose instead to purge the entire city, leading a mass genocide that culminated in the eruption of the volcano at the center, burying thousands of people beneath hot ash and fire.
