The Webwood

The Webwood is the domain of Naiise. Unlike most Fae, Naiise is very migratory, and frequently steps through the wilds. With each desperate scrape of the hands, the woods warp around her. Trees lose their leaves before the branches are left swaying in an ominous movement that seems to swipe and grasp at nearby travelers. Roads are overgrown by creeping vines that suspiciously creep closer towards the legs of wayward wanderers, as if eager to drag them deep into the crooked, web-infested treeline.   Most unsettling is the trees; each tree Naiise passes is inevitably infested with countless skittering spiders that dwell beneath the bark or within the tangled webs that swiftly replace the lost leaves of the dead branches.

Woods that Walk

The Webwood is also sometimes referred to as the Walking Wood due to it shifting with every shambling step that Naiise scurries off through. Trees miraculously heal back to normal seconds after her departure, and in fact, grow lusher and more vibrant than ever after having been taken by the Webwood. The Webwood is never in the same place; and follows wherever Naiise scurries to.   This leaves a massive patch of forest that the Fianni and Elves often avoid unless they actively seek to meet with the Crann;

Forbidden Entry

Naiise is notoriously defensive over those that enter her woods; while she is understanding enough to grant an hour grace period of wanderers and travelers for stepping into her domain, those that walk into her realm for too long are swiftly confronted by her or one of her many-legged emmisaries. The woods themselves will conspire against wayward wanderers.   Twisted branches will scratch for their eyes to keep them from moving. Spiders will erupt from nearby stumps to restrain them with silk. To Naiise, nobody is allowed to wander within the Webwood save for herself, her children, and those that have showed that they've suffered enough to require her protection.

Wandering Matron

Naiise doesn't wander aimlessly. Every movement she makes is with the sole intention of giving the inhabitants of her woods a chance to explore the world whilst keeping close to her domain; to Naiise, staying languid and stagnating is a catalyst to more misery, and while she wishes to coddle and protect those that suffer so, she would much rather see them pull themselves away from the depths of their despair.
