Iron Armor
Iron armor was invented by the Human race, more specifically, the Centerran culture, and after they began colonizing Vesteria , they showed the native Salusk how to efficiently mine iron from their mountains and forge with it, doing far more with it than any Salusk scholar had yet discovered.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
The various pieces of armor (except for the helmet) fit snugly together over a vest of chainmail for the pinnacle of protection on the modern battlefield. Pieces can be knocked loose with an extremely powerful hit, and the wearer is vulnerable to arrows at the neck and under the arm. Nonetheless, the wearer maintains an incredible degree of movement, able to leap and roll with very little encumbrance.
Manufacturing process
Iron (often in ingot form) is melted down along with other metals to further strengthen it. The blacksmith will pour the molten metal into a flat mold for the armor piece, curving it with his tools as it cools and hammering it. After the metal has been cooled and polished, it can be assembled into a suit of armor, which, if the instructions were followed properly, should fit the person who ordered it quite well.
Significance
Centerran warriors value their armor as a symbol of pride, and strive to take good care of it between battles. Salusk, on the other hand, don't value material goods as much; armor is simply an end to a means.
