Rosar Knights

The paladin order of the Church of Rosaris, the Rosar Knights serve as peacekeepers for Vestria.   As an extension of the Church, the knights can exercise greater leeway when traveling between kingdoms. This makes them well suited for investigating inter-political issues as well as subjects exceeding the bounds of a single regions such as the exploration of Dwarven Ruins.

Composition

Manpower

A typical squad of Rosar Knights is made up of two knights accompanied by their squires.   Exactly how many knights are in the employ of the Church isn't widely known, but most estimates place the number at approximately 2,000.

Equipment

A knight squad carries weapons for combat as well as rations. Field journals and inkwells are also commonly carried, both for penning reports and taking notes during missions.

Weaponry

Knights typically carry two weapons on their person, their primary and secondary arms. The primary arm is their main weapon of choice such as a sword, spear, or mace. Their secondary arm serves as auxilery should they lose their primary or circumstances render the latter ill-suited. These might be a short sword or a pair of daggers to replace their main sword or a short bow to allow for versitility in ranged combat.

Vehicles

Rosar knights often ride horses while traveling while their squires ride along side on their own mounts or, depending on the journey, drive carts carrying supplies.

Structure

The knights report to the bishop of local region for their mission assignments.

Training

Rosar training is grueling two years of training where squires are taught weapon arts, equestrian skills, history, and spellcraft should they have the ability for it.   After their first year, squires are partnered with a knight to travel with and serve under while gaining experience in the field.

Logistics

Recruitment

The knightly order acquires most of its recruits through the Church or from garrisons of regions aligned with the faith.

Under "Equipment," you wrote, "A knight squad carries weapons and weapons for combat as well as rations." I'm not sure if this is a typo, or if they carry another type of weapon, used for something other than combat. (If the latter, are you referring to their primary and secondary arms? I wasn't wholly clear.)

Thanks for catching that.   Fixed.

Definitely clear now.   I really like you intro, and the discussion of the Dwarven ruins. It's a great way to add some additional context and a layer of mystery really quickly. It also shows the nuance of the jobs of the knights themselves.
