Obsidian

This black, shiny volcanic glass is the material of choice for A'Mi Shadowmages as it is the principle energy source for A'Mi Umbramancy. Obsidian is found mostly on the Black Islands, near the A'Mi port of Ti'Al. Obsidian is frequently used for knife blades due to its incredibly sharp edge, but since it is too brittle it is often refined into Shadow Essence, which is in turn used to create Shadowsteel.
