The Burning Dawn
The Burning Dawn are a coalition of dragons hailing from the northern territories of Exol. In 289, when the blue dragon Tyrgaii'm, the saw chance to strike the war-weary Draconic Kingdoms, he and several other dragons put aside their petty differences to take on the greater threat to their existence: the Draconic leaders themselves.
Tyrgaii'm (pronounced Tear - guy -em) recruited the most powerful chromatic dragons he could: the green dragon Erdine and the red dragon Ellethia. This trio would wreak havok on the weakened kingdoms for nearly two full months. While the dragon leaders themselves would normally be enough to slay the Burning Dawn in one on one combat, the Dawn was elusive.
The secret weapon for the Burning Dawn was a deep dragon known as Elamros. With an extensive knowledge of the Underdark and the caves that run beneath Exol, Elamros was able to perform violent, unexpected attacks all over Exol.
The Burning Dawn drew the dragon rulers to what is now known as the Ash Barrens. There, the Burning Dawn made their final stand. They were no match for the far older and more powerful leaders of the tri-kingdoms. But what they lacked in strength they made up for in numbers. Aside from a slew of monstrous recruits, the Burning Dawn had spent years breeding Wyrmlings. Shayroth, the then queen of Kalawyn, refused to kill Wyrmlings. This moral dilemma became a frustration for Jasith and Avin and drove a rift between the three. Though they managed to kill Erdine, the fight was not over.
While the battle raged on, Elamros continued to strike the unprotected cities of the Draconic Kingdoms. In the final days of combat, Queen Shayroth was slain. But Tyrgaii'm couldn't hold out much longer. One evening, he struck a secret deal with the kingdoms. Tyrgaii'm blamed Ellethia for the alliance. He said the fighting could be over, but they would need to let him live in the end. Jasith and Avin agreed. Ellethia would later be executed. Tygaii'm and the remaining wyrmlings were banished to the Isles of Exile. Elamros was never found.
Today, the Burning Dawn is thought to be disbanded.
