These turtle folk live on many worlds, most often journeying up and down coasts, along waterways, and across the sea. Tortles don't have a unified story of how they were created, but they all have a sense of being mystically connected to the natural world. Carrying their shelter on their backs gives tortles a special feeling of security wherever they go, for even if they visit a far, unknown country, they have a place to lay their heads. Tortles exhibit the same range of coloration and patterns found among turtles, and many tortles enjoy adorning their shells in distinctive ways.
Ancient Tortles were created by magic mutating turtles into monsters, but the Goddess Beory gave them wisdom and the intelligence to speak. Tortles lay around five eggs, the eggs are laid one at a time one day apart. They hatch in the order they were laid. Around one year, tortles can walk and talk. They only celebrate their fifteenth birthday when they are considered an adult. During this celebration they are given the option to leave their homeland and travel if they want to. Female tortles can lay eggs at this age. They will lay eggs after two to three days after get fertilization. Their eggs will hatch after one month.
