Purpose / Function
The caverns currently act as a water source and waterway, food production and processing chambers, storage and emergency shelters. Some also use it as a mourning place, largely the surviving natives, but most avoid it due to its macabre past and disturbing remnants.
Originally, the caverns were a sanctuary to take refuge from the severe climate of (Country) and its storms and disasters. It acted as a shelter and was once amongst the largest settlements of the natives. For a time, it also acted as a refuge from invaders and assailants.
