Zharam

The Founder of Fyey-Ahkeer-Byssium, Zharam Safina, was initially hesitant to use the title Zharam as it seemed too grandiose through native standards, being a title from a mythological figure of great significance, and an insignificant unknown to other cultures and governments. However, upon her great accomplishments in freeing the land, uniting the various peoples old and new, reigniting the relationship with the Silk Spiders and founding the new nation, it was the natives themselves who bestowed it upon her in reverence and gratitude.   Upon discovering the titles history and significance her friend and Historical Advisor (name) insisted upon its use. He firmly believed that all the details of the beginning of a nation, whether major or minute, affected the future and culture centuries, perhaps even millennia later, as they all set a precedent, so considered it important to set the values from the origin as best they could manage. As the nation was a hub for slaves, fugitives and other victims from around the world to varying degrees and was home to natives at a lesser number, it would be difficult to form a system they hadn't developed a preference or revulsion for or would create an inherent imbalance, discounting most the worlds political systems. As a leader Safina had earned the title Zharam and as a native had access to it and its histories without insult. Having been presented with it by natives unrelated to her she could side-step the issues of presumptuousness and uphold it without shame.   (advisors name) believed that taking it would create a distinction from the nations who had ruined them and create a new and relatable identity for others to fall under while exagerating her supremacy upon the land and her absolute rightful sovereignty as through right of deed and blood. As Zharam Safina could remodel the nation adapted to her peoples systems, making it easy for natives and foreign born people alike to reorganise with minimal conflict and allowing the empowerment of the natives despite their lesser population. Having an old societal structure to refer to not only subverted the risks of creating one from scratch but also added a pre-set history and culture for others to adapt to. Having been an incredibly peaceful and nature based culture, they were able to use it to set their nations trajectory and blunten lasting effects of the nations violent origin.   As such the title Zharam was decided upon and set in stone as the nations leader, thus aiding the development of their society and culture.

Cultural Significance

While Zharam is currently known as the title of the Leader of Fyey-Ahkeer-Byssium it originated as a legendary title within the myths and histories of the native peoples of the land, a word simply translated to 'Great Leader of All Clans'. It comes from a story so old it's considered more of a tale than a fact, about how a Great Leader once united the clans in a time of immense strife, brought in prosperity and growth and ushered them into a new era. Some versions name them as the origin of clans and others the one who began friendly relations with the Silk Spiders.   There is no solid proof the Original Zharam ever existed beyond questionable artifacts which could simply be mediums of storytelling from earlier renditions of the tales. Any who tried to lay claim to the title would be scoffed at as ostentatious, childish and egotistical. Far in the past some would attempt to forcefully claim it through conquest, though they were few and far between due to relatively peaceful and cooperative cultural mindset.
