The birth of Kaya (daughter) and Evian (son) started from an agreement between their mother and their father, King Nordan of Vaianor, as a result of their friendship and political alliance. Their birth tied the nations of the Kingdom of Vaianor and Fyey-Ahkeer-Byssium together as firm allies and started off a history of peace and friendship between the two so long and strong it was written into history as legend.

The agreement between Nordan and Safina started off as a throwaway comment made while they were drinking. Nordan had been seeking respite from troubles in marriage and conception, further exacerbated from the fact that as King he was required to produce an heir but was homosexual and was trying to take husband instead. It was left alone at the time but when the issue was brought up again with Sarkinsnao Lyremen (later Consort Sarkinsnao Vaianor), Sarkinsnao mentioned surrogacy as an option and the idea was set on the table.   After further discussion between the prince and his lover they decided upon it as their chosen method. The only issue remaining was the surrogate mother. They knew it would have to wait until Nordan had both usurped the throne, taking his place as King, and had established some form of stability or power, but after that they would be target and choosing someone for such a vital role was risky. They approached Safina for her opinion and after some thought she offered herself.   The three of them had a long and strong friendship and considered each other family. Safina had no dubious connections, history or blood ties with any of the nations and presented no social or security reach. The main issue was that she was a random commoner. As a native of Hells Playground (later Fyey-Ahkeer-Byssium) and a former slave and prostitute some considered her even less than that. It was Amiran Lixtern, Safinas' lover and former concubine of Duke Lydius Myredan, that suggested they erase all complaints by formalising it. The surrogacy was then included in their formal alliance and was later included in the famed Centurion Treaty.   And so the twin heirs were born, tying the nations of the Kingdom of Vaianor and Fyey-Ahkeer-Byssium together as firm allies and starting off a history of peace and friendship between the two so long and strong it was written into history as legend.
