Lu-Ma Scales
Silvery Scales of the Moonlit Fish
"For such a small and harmless fish, they're a right b*$t!rd to get hold of."Lu-Ma are a species of small, rounded fish that live on the ocean seabeds and in coral reef. The fish themselves are known to have reflective silvery scales which catch the light of the moon, shimmering brightly giving the impression silver is under the water. This has drawn many delusional sailors attempt to dive overboard and obtain the fake silver. If on is lucky to see the fish in their natural habitat, they will find them in a school of upto thirty fish.
Uses:
The scales of the Lu-Ma are a useful ingredient, enhancing the durability of both illumination and water breathing potions. They can also be used as a material in aquatic armour and water based weapons. Some blacksmiths claim the scales are easier to enchant than other materials but due to the rarity of gaining large quantities of the fish, has never been confirmed. Nevertheless, the versatility of the scales makes them a well sought out after material. Gaining such scales can prove a challenge due a history of over fishing and the habitat of the fish being difficult to reach.Location:
besides their coral homes, Lu-Ma fish can be found in a few more but deadly environments. The first being in the ruins of the Wae-Vun, an underwater city that was home to Gillan society in the age of exploration. The second is in the lair of the Corrabac creature. A large hard shelled beast with coral growing on its back attracts the fish, resulting in the two species co-existing.Potential Plot Hook: A lord from the higher district of Oralyn has requested your party to retrieve Lu-Ma scales to mend his family armour. He would go himself but adventuring is far too tiring, besides he cannot swim.
