Attendants
Attendants
The Attendants of the Visctherian Pantheon in the early Deific Age were a protected class, keeping to themselves and serving the Gods as best they could. When the Continent split, destroying the Godcities, the Attendants were scattered, mere shadows of their former selves. They vanished into nothingness, offering their services elsewhere, until almost the whole organization had died out.
Factions
The two factions of Attendants are separated by Godly City, and are fiercly competitive. To reach the rank of Melarian, one must serve faithfully as a Gavarian Attendant for many years, and the promotions are viciously fought over.
Gavarian
The Attendants of Gavaria were careful, but cutthroat. They cared for the Favorable Gods in their home city, watching and waiting for their chance to move to the Godcity of Melarah. If they managed to move up the ranks enough, they were guaranteed a spot in the heart of modern existence.
Melarian
Chosen directly by the Gods of the Visctherian Pantheon, the Attendants of Melarah served all who entered the Godcity, be it mortal or deity. They met every need, every request, every wish as best they could, short of allowing access to any deity. Only those who Attended the Godcourt were allowed to carry weaponry.
The Pantheon
The Visctherian Pantheon that the Attendants served was very different from the modern interpretations of the Pantheon. Once physical beings with physical powers, now they only exist as literal Shards of their former selves.
