Godcourt
About the Godcourt
The Godcourt exists to hear the cases of mortals to grant their wishes. A massive courtroom of wood and gold, filled with seats for a watching - and silent - jury, the Godcourt is manned by two of the Visctherian Pantheon each day. One Favorable God balances one Unfavorable God, and each pass judgement on the cases the mortals present to them. None know how the lots are drawn, and each day is a new surprise as to which deity will be present.
If you manage to make it to the Godcourt, pray the Favorable outweighs the Unfavorable. Otherwise, you may find yourself with a curse rather than a blessing.
The Jury
The Jury of the Godcourt is a carefully selected group of Attendants that also changes daily, chosen by the Gods that serve that day. The Melaran Attendants are also armed, ready to beat down any mortal who dares stand up to the Gods. While the Jury is present and watching, they have no say in the final verdict, and are rarely asked to provide an opinion on any given case the Gods hear.
About Melarah
Melarah is a beautiful city, with shining columns, softly glowing lights at every corner, and wreaths that garnish every window - at least in the upper levels, where the Attendants reside. Down below, where the more temporary residents of the city live, homeless Sapients live on every corner, blankets and makeshift hovels clogging the streets.
The Gods
The Gods and their Attendants were commonly seen together at the Godcourt of Melarah, and rarely were the Gods seen alone. Some Gods kept advisors, others consorts, and all kept guards. No one knows why the Gods did not simply strike down their own enemies, and this thought has largely contributed to their fall from popularity in recent years.

Hello Godcourt, please can I have a pet fish?
That might actually make them laugh enough they'd grant it!
