The Angel Islands
The Angel Islands were once home to the winged race of Erathiel, a proud and noble people who lived in harmony with nature and each other. They were known for their grace and beauty, and their wings were said to shine like the sun. They built grand cities and beautiful temples that dotted the islands, and their society was one of peace and prosperity. The base of the Erathiel was Overcloud, an alleged flying city of mythical beauty, said to be held up by the will of the Erathiel and their connection to the sky. But their idyllic existence was not meant to last. The Luvar, powerful gods, out of jealousy and a desire for control, persecuted the Erathiel for their unique abilities, branding them as unnatural and a threat to the balance of the world. Other races, fueled by superstition, joined in the persecution, and the Erathiel were hunted and killed. The few that remained were forced to flee to the Angel Islands.
Now, the Angel Islands are a shadow of their former selves, occupied by a minority of Erathiel and a mixture of races without an organized structure. The grand cities and temples lie in ruins, and the once-beautiful landscapes are scarred by war. The islands are part of the Draikar Sea to the north, and the waters around them are treacherous and dangerous. The Erathiel that remain struggle to survive, their wings tattered and their spirits broken.
