Lightbearers
Not to be confused with the Order of the Cleansing Light, also known as Lightbearers.The Lightbearers, rarely though more formally called the Order of Divine Light, are a religious order that split from the Sunforged of Razduna quite recently. Like the Sunforged, they worship Sun-Dweller, though their beliefs and rituals differ quite a lot. Unlike the Sunforged, they see their founder, High Priest Sideris, as their deity's prophet and Chosen. While Sideris himself makes no effort to deny it, he takes care to appear humble enough in public. To the Sunforged, the Lightbearers are dangerous heretics, not least because they have been receiving increasing amounts of interest and support, especially in Winterbourne.
Structure
Until his death, Sideris was the sole and absolute leader of the order. After his death, leadership was split between his older son Evangelos Kyriakou of the Archangelsk chapter, and his younger son Ciprian Revenco of the Duskport chapter. The original chapter in Winterbourne soon split into a handful of smaller groups, akin to those that survived in other settlements. Some of these groups were tolerated, others went underground to evade persecution by the Sunforged.Mythology and Controversy
According to Sideris, Sun-Dweller granted him an audience, during which they told him the Sunforged had become decadent and backwards. They sent him on a quest to Nightside, where he was to find the Divine Light and bring it back to Winterbourne. Needless to say, the Sunforged interpret events a little differently. To them, Sideris was little more than an apostate with delusions of grandeur. Their order surviving as the dominant religious group in Razduna while the Lightbearers fell apart, is evidence enough of this. What neither foresaw however, was that both were correct, to a point. Though it would take the arrival of the Order of the Cleansing Light for a very public confrontation with Sun-Dweller themself to set the record straight, and to once again throw Razduna into turmoil.
