Confederacy
250 years before the current date, there existed two warring nations, one of elven descent and the other of dwarven. They were more so rivals than hostile to eachother, they competed on every front, military mite, culture, architecture, art, arcane crafts and philosophy. This was halted when the raiders from the North came, they are known only as the Vraknian Fangs, Nordic Vampiric Raiders from the northern isles known as Ragnahel. The invasion was devastating and bloody but this forced the birth of the confederacy. The two Kingdoms joined under one banner and through great strife, drove off the invaders with a huge amount of the credit going to the great colossus, an elven superweapon that can only be awoken 10 times as this was the pinnacle of elven creation however only one of the makers could awaken it and to awaken it, the maker would have to sacrifice themselves in the awakening ritual. The colossus remains awake for a years time before returning to the place of its' birth. For reference, the colossus had been used 8 times up until this point. This would be the 9th time. The confederation endured after the invasion, seeing how beneficial their combined mite could be, they created a perimeter around their homelands that would take the strength of the worlds unified nations to break. They started with the Great Wall to the North in order to be better prepared should the Vraknian Fangs ever return. They continued by building the Gate of the West and the great fleet the patrols the channel along the eastern border, fearing the return of the imperial dominance of the east. Though at constant war with the empire since its' founding, the confederacy has held the line for 250 years while the people behind the lines have lived a life of leisure and plenty.

History
The Vraknian Fangs devastated both kingdoms, after suffering countless deaths the armies were pushed together to the location that is now Golden Oak Capital City, The Fangs believed the two kingdoms' armies would begin to fight as a result of hundreds of years of intense rivalry. General Ocato, leader of the 13th legion, stepped up and united the two armies to rally against their bigger foe. Thousands of them charged into an army 10 times their number and came out on top. The exact events of the battle are a mystery however. But all that is known is that the Confederacy won after losing so many troops. It was a hard fought victory that created a union between two nations that would continue to the present. Though they suffer political strife and constant sieges, those who live behind the borders have known a what is is to live in paradise. For 250 years this union has stood firm against the winds of change that time brings upon all things.
