Elves
Elves on Vorago have many different ethnicities and cultures, like all sentient groups, but all share one major thing in common; the Elven Worldsoul.
*Elf Traits:*
Elves are typically around human height, though it ranges widely between ethnicities, and more lithe. They have pointed ears, an angular beauty, and live very long lives (typically around 400 years, but up to 700+!).
(It's all the same as in the 5e PHB)
They reproduce extremely slowly.
*The Elven Worldsoul*
The souls of all elves on Vorago are bound and claimed by the Worldsoul, and the Worldsoul is the origin of the soul of any elf born on Vorago. This leads to a number of properties:
-During rest, elves experience flashes of previous elven lives. They may be portentous, or simply be random.
-Elves know many common skills by nature (weapon proficiencies), due to their many past lives.
-It is very hard to trap an elven soul after death; devils prefer not to make contracts with elves (weak ones simply can't).
-Elves have a population cap, and a fluctuating birth rate. No matter how many times a couple tries, an elven child cannot be conceived until enough new spirit is available from the world soul; another elf must die. During times of crisis, the fertility and birth rate spikes.
*Half-Elves*
Elves can biologically have children with humans, like most species. The question that has been burning for centuries is what happens to half-elven souls? Some think they come from the world-soul, given how half-elves sometimes dream of past events, but what if they never come BACK? On the other hand, some think they are a net gain for the world soul, not a net loss. Thus, half-elves are disapproved of in some elven circles, but gladly welcomed in others.
