Time Teller
The Time Teller is a powerful artifact capable of casting and enhancing chronomancy. It is shaped like a platinum pocketwatch with dozens of afterimages of hands spinning on the face.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
While attuned to the Time Teller, the owner is immune to the effects of Slow, may cast either Slow or Haste twice per day without using a spell slot, and may unlock further abilities with continued attunement as the soul becomes more temporally attuned to the artifact than it does to its home time stream. The artifact slowly builds temporal difference energy, which can be used to cast spells and power impossible machines. The artifact also possesses its own time flow independent of the surrounding world, preventing its wielder from aging, allowing perfect timekeeping, and even reversing the flow of time for inorganic materials nearby (for, say, archeology or investigation).
History
The Time Teller was frequently used and reportedly created by Alhammarret, though no one can confirm its origins. It was recovered from the sphinx's lair then sold to The Magocratos and lost during the Brothers War.
Significance
The Time Teller is significant because it stabilizes and focuses chronomancy, and is a key component of many theoretical magical machines. it is also a powerful artifact in its own right, with many innate spells.
