Ordia
Geography
The geography of Ordia varies by region. Dhaversland is home to tall, evergreen trees and the snow-capped peaks of the Muiraces and Mt. Ludros. Gentrov is known for its great plains, rolling foothills, little forestland, and marshland to the east. Bharak-dur is completely surrounded by the Muiraces, and the Venezi reaches which reach about half the great heights of the Muiraces. It was, at one time, home to a great forest that started in the Muiraces and made its way down to the Dradeli Sea to the west. Florestal, however, has the most diverse terrain of all with the Venezi reaches to the northwest and rolling hills of green in the east. Between the two lays an ancient forest with giant trees twisted by the Storm known as Dirkwood.
Fauna & Flora
Ordia is home to many different species of plants and animals. Many species have gone extinct since the Storm, but domesticated animals like cows, pigs, sheep, and horses still dominate Northern Ordia. Many different species of mammals, reptiles, fish, amphibians, and plants inhabit the realm.
Natural Resources
Ordia, as expected, is abundant in grain, domesticated animals, Dragaus crystals in the muiraces, iron, coal, lumber, etc.
History
The History of Ordia Predating the Great Storm
-103 AS (Age of Stone) - A group of humans known as the Talaji settle what they would come to call Ordia, which meant Home in ancient Ordian.
-31 AS - The first and last sighting of an Opiitian on Ordia.
1 AG - The first queen of the Talaji empire takes power at the behest of her people. Her name is lost to time, but she is known to most as "The Mother of Golden Times". AG means the Age of Gold for this reason.
108 AG - Talaji towns and cities become denser and denser in central and southern Ordia.
765 AG - At some point, the Talaji began referring to their queens as empresses. The first recorded use was in 765 when referring to Emperess Ghioda. This was centuries after the Talaj Empire began ceasing more and more territory from natives, pushing them into Northern Ordia which was mostly uninhabited due to the danger of traversing the Mountains that separated it from the mainland, the Tandus Mountains.
768 AG - The human tribes of the Stygian Peaks grow tired of consistent harassment from the devil-worshipping Haruskan people and embark on a journey to discover new lands to live in. They are pursued by the Hobgoblins and thousands die. Only a few ships make it to Northern Ordia, the part of Ordia that was incredibly difficult to venture to due to the extreme difficulty of traversing the Tandus Mountains, that separated it from the rest of the Talaji Empire.
2404 AG - The Empire has been focusing its resources and time fighting with rising nations, snuffing them out, and annexing them into the fold. It is now millions of people in size and they've began to make strides in technology.
4603 AG - The Empire spends the past thousand or so years battling the Olarchar (Imperial Dwarves) and the Poel'ritark across the world for land and freedom.
4701 AG - Freeing themselves, the Talaji take complete control over southern and central Ordia and parts of Northern Ordia. Their knowledge of war, strategy, and even magic still triumph over any nation today.
4889 AG - Explorers and conquerors began to settle what is now the Old World and the Dirk Wood. The hundred odd-some folk that survive the travels through the Tandus Mountains swear to never return to the empire, for the Talaji swore not to assist them due to the fact that their leader was a bastard child of the current empress. They are thwarted from the Heartlands and because of aggressive Squatfolk and Native humans of Brildenfeld known as the Brish today.
4901 AG - The Talaji have re-engaged in conflict with the Poel'ritark (dark elves), the elven empire that harassed them thousands of years ago. Their cities begin to fall one by one at the hands of the supreme magics of their magisters.
4965 AG - The Talaji Empire is in shambles. More than half of their people have died or are enslaved by the Poel'ritark. The majority of the empire flees to the north into the mountain range that separates central and northern Ordia. The Empire, for the remainder of its existence, dwells in the Tandus Mountains. They are cut off from people of the Old World and the mainland. The Last Emperess, Kastilis Hosilli, was said to have died of a broken heart. What little was found in the Mountains primarily described a poem she wrote in her final days. It is lost to time and many an adventurer yearn to be able to go to the Tandus Mountains to find and recover the legendary tablet, Fidemis Miames, or "Farewell, My Love".
5056 AG - The people of the Old World continue to have rocky relations with the natives that dominate the north by the thousands. Over the years, they grew greatly in size as they decided to keep to their land as to not anger the tribes and peoples. Some concerned people worry about what would become of them for abandoning their Empire, but they never receive contact. They are unaware that the Empire has fallen and only petty resistance remains against the Poel'ritark.
5093 AG - The Salarchar (Free Dwarves) make landing in what is now Bharak-dur after a long and strenuous conflict with their cousins, the Olarchar.
5132 AG - The Great Storm destroys the majority of Ordia, leaving an overwhelming majority of it uninhabitable and Northern Ordia sundered and torn, creating new rivers, hills, mountain ranges, and destruction of what little edifices remain. The Old World is greatly sundered, leaving many of the villages destroyed and now sunken below the Dradeli Sea. What little is left of the Old World struggles greatly to rebuild, for many of their finest cities were now lost under the boiling sea.
