Storm Amalgams: The Cadrak
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Cadrak is leathery in appearance with slick fibrous hairs that protrude from the body that serve as stimuli. It can vary in the number of limbs, but they are most commonly spotted with four haired legs with spines protruding from each digit on the foot. A thick muscle-like structure surrounds the abdomen as an extra layer of protection to its vital organs beyond the ribcage.
Genetics and Reproduction
The creatures reproduce asexually. After a certain amount of time, the creature lays dozens of eggs that it then buries. The eggs hatch and a maggot-like creature emerge. It begins its life eating nutrients found in soil.
Growth Rate & Stages
It begins its life in an egg that is roughly 3 inches in diameter then hatches, eating the egg for nutrients as it eventually burrows to the surface after growing leg-like appendages. Over the next few months, it will grow into a creature that resembles a canine. By the age of 1 year, the creature is fully grown and able to grow eggs within the pouch around its neck. It takes 6 months for the eggs to properly incubate within the neck sack before releasing them into a hole.
