Andichar and the Worldhopper
Long ago, there was a foolish wizard from a far away place. It is said that he lost a war in one world and decided his best course of action was to bring his fight to another. Truly, the wisest of wizards... From a great power, he received the Key of Worlds, a unique artifact, to say the least. It is said that the Key of Worlds allowed him to travel anywhere, to any plane, to any realm, to any world, ignoring any and all barriers that would normally keep things separate, breaking rules with no regard for the stability of existence.
He came to Vyaelian and attacked from the sky, his great ship captained by Andichar the Fiend.
Try as he might, the great Cravyre could not defeat this power.
One day, when the times were dark, Aurolyr, who was not yet a god but still a queen, came to Cravyre. She promised the Great Hero that she would remove Andichar from the equation. What she asked in return is not known for certain. Nonetheless, she held up her end of whatever bargain was made. It is said that the queen of the dark mountain went to Andichar and asked him to leave the ship. She made him swear to leave her own people well alone for a millennium. In exchange, she handed him a deep bag of platinum and presumably other objects of great monetary value. Andichar agreed to this.
The foolish Worldhopper, bereft of his powerful captain, was easily defeated by Cravyre. But Andichar, free on Vyaelian spent many a century wreaking havoc, crafting cursed madness inducing gifts, amassing wealth and amassing power before, at last, Cravyre the Returned banished him from Vyaelian.
By the time of his banishment, Andichar was far beyond the petty fiend captain he had been when the Worldhopper had summoned him. He had struck many a deal, been reborn into great power by the Coven, taught great crafts and enchantments by the Wanderer, filled the world with a thousand curses and nearly ruled the lands from atop his great palace. The hoard of Andichar, piled high with precious metals, valuable gemstones and his many cursed artefacts was sealed tightly away and lost.
