General Summary
Exploring the Dining Room
- When Harold dropped the snow globe on the ground, it shattered, scattering glass and snow on the table. The headless man left to find a broom.
- The broom swept the ground by itself.
- Beau found a mousehole behind the dining room cabinet. It contained a dead rat with an exposed brain.
- In the kitchen, Harold found a very large creature similar to Matee pegged to the stone floor heating a pot of boiling liquid.
- Harold used his magic to tip over the pot, dropping the bubbling whatever it was to the ground. The headless man expressed discontent and tried to get the broom to clean it up as it started to eat through the stone. The broom was innefective. The headless man fetched a mop. The mop needed the headless man to use it manually.
- Farren and Harold freed the tired fire salamander from the ground but could not pull the pegs out from the limbs as they were barbed.
- Farren healed the creature somewhat and offered it sesame and sunflower seeds. It eventually munched on one. Alton offered a handfull of pretty decent berries. The creature ate two but seemed full.
- There was a clock in the dining room with finger bones as the hands and bones as the pendulum.
- The door behind seemed to open to a room filled with some now
- The other door leading out of the room let to a hallway with four doors on the sides, each leading to 5x5 ft rooms, two with wall sconces. The captain sensed fiendish energy on the other side of two of them. There was also a door at the end of the hall. The captain sensed even more fiendish energy there.
- Harold broke the dining chairs and gave them to the fire salamander for fuel. Oh, Hello
- On the other side of the door was a huge fiend weilding a strange weapon - two swords joined together by a chain. It could not fit properly in the hallway but prepared somewhat lazily to attack the party.
- The party shut the door.
- The party and fiend both readied themselves and fought.
- Beau was grievously wounded, again.
- The party noticed the fiend heating up and backed away before dealing the final blow.
- The fiend exploded, burning the wooden doors in the hallway to a crisp.
- The captain found a magical shield on the wall amid stone faces in pained expressions beyond where the demon had been waiting.
- The hallways seemed to continue in something of a maze.
- Harold took the fiend's weapon and shoved it into his bag.
Hags! Headless Men! Everywhere!
- The party eventually entered the closet with the sconce. One by one, they found themselves in another room with four little rose gardens and a big mirror on the wall.
- There was some brief confusion as it appeared that Vickie and a headless man had entered the room and some party members were missing.
- Harold/Gantar glowed.
- The party realized what appeared to be enemies were in fact friends, disguised by illusion.
FIGHT
- Vickie pulled Wyn from the bag and threatened to hurt the girl. Alton did not buy this, and summoned Vaena, to ask if it was real. Vaena said no, and flew forward to help beat up the hag. This "Wyn" was later revealed to be a cabbage.
- The mirror was shattered and the real Vickie was revealed to be on the other side, shoving things into a bag with a wand in her other hand.
- There was a fight. Vickie attempted to dispel Farren's buff but was thwarted by Beau. She attempted to banish Harold, but Harold resisted thanks to his proper dress (Fernando approved). The captain remembered he had the mage buster shield. Harold grew to a massive size and attacked with the fiend's chain sword.
- Vickie's body was shattered but began to reform. The party noticed two glowing bits and shot them.
- Vickie was defeated.
- Harold stuck one of the glowing bits, revealed to be a coin, in his helmet. It was constantly damaging him but, thanks to Gantar, he was immune.
- Alton took the other coin, which had a snake on one side and the image of a man on the other, and put it in his bag. This one did not burn.
- Harold punched his way through the walls, blowing the flames out of the way to get the party to safety.
Success?
- On the way out, Alton grabbed the headless man and the head from the hallway. Farren grabbed the large fire salamander with the help of Beau's summoned dragon spirit.
- The party escaped as the house burned.
- Zed, Fernando and Matee were waiting outside.
- The antimagic field seemed to have dissipated for the moment?
- Matee seemed distressed and went to greet the bigger salamander, showing him how to eat seeds.
