The Sundered Isles

The Sundered Isles is a continent made up of a variety of large islands that separates the Adamant Ocean and the Provenance Ocean. The continent was once a single large continent by the name of Igíos as was recorded during The Age of Enlightenment. However, some sort of event occurred during The Forgotten Age that split the continent into several smaller landmasses, and now only the largest of the islands is known as Igíos. The Sundered Isles, or as it was known at the time as Igíos, is thought to be one of the powers responsible for the events that led up to the war in the Provenance Ocean that gave The Age of War its name.

Nowadays, the nation of Igíos, the largest island in the Sundered Isles, is the only nation of the Isles that participates in global politics. Most of the rest of the islands of the Sundered Isles are populated by different kind of more monstrous humanoids, many of whom are intelligent communities, such as giants, fiends, undead, medusas, and more. For this reason, many try not to travel to the Sundered Isles unless they have to and tend to do all of their trading with Igíos in their home nations when they can.

The culture of Igíos and the Sundered Isles (unless specifically made up for this setting) is inspired by real life ancient Greek and feudal Japanese cultures. For purposes of character and world building, anything that originates from Igíos or the Sundered Isles can be named or inspired by these same nations and fit the setting.
