Igíos

The nation of Igíos lies on the largest island of The Sundered Isles. The surviving portion of the empire that was split apart during The Age of War and The Forgotten Age. The nation has always been rather isolationist and militaristic, however nowadays the nation seems to be more cooperative and willing to trade outside of their borders. Due to the surrounding islands of the Sundered Isles containing communities of sometimes dangerous monsters, the residents of Igíos are often wary of outsiders and most are trained for at least some sort of combat as an invasion can come from any side.
The capital of Igíos is Drákagon, one of the remaining Sovereign Cities. There the emperor rules the island nation and commands the Draconic Pilgrimage.
While the nation of Igíos does worship The Pantheon of Creators among the other deities of Vylderaine, they also revere dragons and most everyone will have a shrine to a particular type of dragon if not a specific dragon in their home. This form of draconic admiration is less about worship and more about respect. The Sundered Isles were said to be full of dragons back when the continent was still Igíos during The Unwritten Age. Since then the dragons and the people of Igíos were in a constant competition of strength and dominance leading to a popular culture of dragon hunters amongst the people of Igíos as well as a tremendous amount of respect for the powerful beings. This also led to the ruling emperors of Igíos creating the Draconic Pilgrimage in the past.
