Xydrithlain Guild

Overview

Named after the main Eljhi family that rules the guild, Xydrithlain also includes a number of members and additional families. They are one of the major guilds that has consolodated the most power in their home city of Kolonne. Their compound dominates the southwest discrict of the city and their primary rivals are Omsalung and Torodez.

Omsalung

They are a culturally diverse, well traveled guild that specialize in ruin exploration and treasure hunting. They've some of the most accurate maps in all of Vyril. A boastful claim but not entirely inaccurate, either. While they, too, are ruled by an Eljhi family, rumor abound of mixed blood and impurities. To those that care, it's a stain on the family record and their standing in the city itself.

Torodez

For some families, heritage and bloodlines are important. For Torodez, it is imperitive. They are an old family, whose roots run deep in Kolonne. Most eljhi in the city could claim relation in some form or fashion and, even if they couldn't prove it, they might not be wrong. For those that work and live in the Torodez family compound, they can trace their bloodline back generations. Talent and skill goes hand in hand with their prestige and wealth. Some would say the city functions because they will it to, even if most would prefer it otherwise.

City Standing

There is no official ranking or council in the city of Kolonne, though there is certainly a council of Elders that steer the city in the direction they would have it. Invitations are sent out to those Guilds who are seen to have siginificant sway, generally sent out by families who, themselves, who significant wealth and power. It's a controlled, chaotic, political game that infrequently results in the destruction of some guilds and families entirely.
While power is necessarily self proclaimed, it must have backing and bearing. Xydrithlain has both for the current time. Though rankings and standings might fluctuate, the Guild has held a prestigious and powerful position in the city for centuries now.
