Chisfield

The City of Streams

The northernmost city in the Principality of Aber, Chisfield is a haven of safety nestled in the southern reaches of the Yellowshield Mountains.   Built within the ruins of an ancient working, Chisfield was once a great resivour of water that supplied a series of grandiose aqueducts to feed water through what is now the Tallgrass Plain.    While the Aquaducts have long been ruined, the resivour and drains thought the working still function, allowing the city that has grown around it to have a working sewage system.   The waterways, maintained by a reclusive cult simply called the Keepers maintain this great working, and rule the settlement through thier chosen representative; the Reeve   With its amenities, safe location and strategic location, many come to Chifield seeking a better life. Sadly, not many find it.

Government

The Keepers have ruled Chisfield from its founding. The mysterious society remain fairly apolitical, and designate a Reeve to function as the face of its people. This is fairly unconventional, and has often led to great confusion to outsiders.   Laws change depending on the interests of the Reeve, except for one. The Keepers are above all laws.   While this may lead to abuses In power, there have been no known instances of Keepers abusing thier power.

Industry & Trade

Chisfield is set between mountians in the Yellowshield Range, near large deposits of Clay & Copper. Mining is a major industry here, as well papermaking which is assisted by the water systems of the city's ancient working. Some brave farmers attempt to grow crops around the bases of the mountians, and mountian farmers grow exotic mushrooms and Shepard cattle.

Infrastructure

The town has an extensive sewage and water system, a unique wonder afforded to Chisfield via the workings of the Keepers.
