Tetrahedron Council
A leading council of powerful High Mages, the Tetrahedron Council is held in high regard in many academic circles. Renowned for keeping apolitical, they managed to not be drawn into the Aber Civil Wars as combatants, and have continued to maintain Independence as a scholarly institution.
Their number is few, however the Council associates freely with many who offer knowledge, skill or wealth. To be admitted into the Tetrahedron is a rare honor.
The Tetrahedron Council and its members are comprised by the different aspects of a tetrahedron.
The High Council of the organisation equates to the 4 faces; or the 4 High Wizards. They are chosen and hand selected by its members for their intellect, knowledge and contribution to the collection of wisdoms gathered by their predecessors. A High Wizard guides the Tetrahedron, preserving its traditions and maintaining its reputation that it has painstakingly built over the years. The High Wizards serve until their death - an ultimate responsibility to the Tetrahedron and the pursuit of wisdom.
The Sides of the Tetrahedron represent the body and structure of Council that binds everything together, equating to its members. Members in the council are admitted by their talents and contributions to the field of knowledge, once admitted a member is given the title of “Master Wizard”. Another prerequisite of joining the ranks of the Master Wizards of the Council requires the reference of an existing Tetrahedron Council member - usually meaning that to become a member someone needs to have studied and worked under an existing Master Wizard to earn their reference.
Not much is known about the Apex’s of the Tetrahedron, only the High Wizards are aware of their function and purpose. Some have proposed that they serve as the enforcers of the council. All that people know is that they exist and their purpose is only known to few, and to join their rank one must go through a brutal selection process.
